I have been making Tutu's for some time now.
I am really beginning to get aggravated about my tutu's lately. I always do just a slip knot around the elastic and thats all. Well as time goes by, and as they are in the boutique stores and people pick them up , try them on there children and so on.. well the knot begins to come lose . I Hate this ! I want them to last along time for the people that buy them. I know some of you girls in here are more talented and more knowledgeable on how to do the knots..
SO... I was just wonder how does EVERYBODY do your knots ? I also have seen where some people just tie a loose knot, then a tight knot, however the problem I run into with that, is that it looks all lumpy and bulky around the elastic after I put 2 knots in it, You know . It basically looks tacky after I do any kind of knot except for a slip knot. Can anyone please help me with the knot buisness.... lol =) Thanks so much
Hi! I also use just a slip knot on my tutus, and I know what you mean about them getting kinda trashed in boutiques. That's why I do all my business online. I had several tutus consigned at a local dance studio, but kids would try them on and take them off and just ball them up on a shelf. They looked awful! I find that if you just make the tutu and send it to the one and only owner, they are treated a little more gently. I have also seen some patterns and instructions for sewn tutus, but I don't make them. Anyone else have experience with this?
